Setting up Test Points

In order to start tracking your test points and results, you first need to load your test points into Sample6 CONTROL. Test points can be created one at a time from the floorplan view or you can import them in bulk from an excel template. There are a couple customizable attributes you can set up for your test points including Zones/ Food Contact designations and Programs, explained below.

To import test points "in bulk":

  1. Log into Sample6 CONTROL
  2. Click your name in the upper right and select 'Settings'
  3. Click the 'Test Points' button on the left side of the Settings page
  4. Click the blue 'Test Point Template' button at the top to download the excel test point import template.
  5. Complete the template and save the file to your computer
  6. Select the floorplan (if more than one) from the dropdown menu and where you will import the test points
  7. Click the 'Upload' button to browse your computer for the import file you saved

Note: You can import test points along with historical results using the green button 'Test Result Template'. Follow similar steps as with the Test Point Template by uploading your finished template by "Choosing your file" and clicking "Submit"

Managing test point attributes:

  • Autogenerate name: This feature allows test points to be created without a user-defined test-point name or ID.  A chronological number will be automatically assigned to new test points when this feature is turned on.

      To turn on 'auto-generate name':

  1. From the Test Point page in Settings
  2. Click the "auto-generate name" to turn on/off the feature that automatically creates test point ID's for new test points.  An "on/off" button will be shown when the feature is turned on.
  • Sample6 CONTROL supports two types of zone configurations. You can choose 'FC/NFC' if you would like to designate each test point as Food Contact or Non-food Contact. You can choose 'Zone 1-4' if you would like to designate each test point as a zone 1, zone 2, zone 3 or zone 4.
  • Programs are used as a way to group your test points together. This can be useful when the test points you would like to report on or filter by do not have anything else in common. An example of how this can be used might be to create programs for different test point types. You may want to designate some test points as routine and others as investigative or vector test points.

     To create a new Program:

  1. From the Test Point page in Settings, click "Create New" by "Your Programs"
  2. Name the program
  3. Choose the Site associated with the Program from the drop-down menu
  4. If the program is meant for Investigative test points check the box.  Investigative test points do not create remediations when a positive result is entered.
  5. Click Save
